In this new video I explain why, as a professional guitarist, I don’t actually use many full 6-string barre chords.
Instead, I rely much more on smaller, cut-down shapes (while still using partial barres across 2 or 3 strings when needed).
I go through the 3 main reasons:
- Sound preference
- Easier on the hand
- Better for playing fills and melodies
I also demonstrate practical E-shape and A-shape examples and compare them directly with full barre chord versions.
